He was predeceased by: his parents, Dale "Housie" Edel and Berna Edel (Weldy); and his siblings, Melvin, Owen, Keith Hardy and Valeria Laudeman.
He is survived by: his wife Sandy; his children, Housie Edel (Angie) of Bremen, Casey Edel (Katie) of South Bend and Gina Matthews (Fred) of Bremen; his granddaughters, Gwendolyn Matthews of Bremen and Holland Edel of South Bend; his stepgrandchildren, Kyle of Bremen, Wyatt of Bremen, Garrett of Bremen, Brianna Pollard of Bremen, Genesis of Bremen and Caden Matthews of Bremen; his brother Paul Edel (Cindy) of Bourbon; his sisters-in-law, Ellie Hardy of Mishawaka and Gail Hardy of Bremen; and his caregiver Jodie.
