He was predeceased by: his father Kenneth Smith. He is survived by: his wife Karen Kiefer; his children, Morgan Okafor (Joel) of Indianapolis, Amy Smith (Aaron Hickman) of Knox, Derek Workman (Amy) of Plymouth and Heather Schollmeier of Indianapolis; and his siblings, Linda Crippen (David) of Pittsburgh, PA, Mary Shinkle (George) of Sydney, Elaine Gage (Phil) of Shipshewana, IN, Roger Smith of Bremen and Steve Smith of Bremen. He is also survived by eight grandchildren.
