He was predeceased by: his parents, Henry F. Kiefer and Bertha G. Kiefer (Carbierner); his sister Lucile Caroline; and his son Stephen Michael. He is survived by: his sons, John Kiefer (Sandra) of Bremen, James (Melody) of Elk Rapids, MI, David (Beth) of Birmingham, MI and Michael Smith (Melanie) of Pierceton, IN; his daughter-in-law Debbie Smith of Creedmor, NC.; his grandchildren, Deidre Kiefer (Chris Kamrath), Hannah Kiefer, Meredith Stidham (Josh), Seth Kiefer (Sarah), Claire Kiefer, Katherine Kiefer, Lillian Kiefer, Tabitha Varma, Heather Just (George), Willard Lewis, Jeanette Lewis, Zachery Lewis, Ryan Norsmith (Laurel), Michelle Shenefield (Skyler), Brett Smith (Dessiree), Lisa Kochenspager (Kanaan) and Brianna Smith; and also Pamela Reed (Tom) of Syracuse, IN. He is also survived by ten great grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Thursday, April 24th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Mishler Funeral Home (2030 IN-331, Bremen, IN 46506). A funeral service was held on Friday, April 25th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church (605 S Center St, Bremen, IN 46506).
