He was predeceased by: his parents, Clark Thornton and Edith Thornton (Brown); his wife Rose "Cathy" Allen; and his sons-in-law, Blas Flores and Mark Bunn.
He is survived by: his daughters, Lee Ann Walter (Steve) of Bremen, Lisa Flores of Bremen and Lori Barnaby (Chad) of Bremen; and his siblings, Roger Thornton (Marge) of Bluffton, IN, Sandra Cochran of Manhattan, IL, Shirley Clements of Pryor, OK and Larry Thornton (Rita) of Plymouth. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family would prefer memorial contributions to be made to the Center for Hospice Care, 501 Comfort Place, Mishawaka, IN 46545.
