He was predeceased by: his parents, David Elmer and Winifred Fay Deakins (Davis); and his siblings, John Deakins, Helen Maesch, Jessie Shephard, Macil Smith, Dorothy Grigsby and Everett Deakins.
He is survived by: his wife Mary Deakins; his children, David Deakins (Patty), Sharon Plemen (Bob), Diana "Dee Dee" Johnson and Janis Fabbri (David); his grandchildren, David A. Deakins, Kimberly Morrison (Ryan), Trey Plemen, Troy Fabbri, Brett Fabbri (Brittanee) and Tony Fabbri (Lyndsey); and his brother Bob Deakins. He is also survived by 8 great-grandchildren.
