He was predeceased by: his parents, Glen Barker and Byrona Barker; and his brother Bob Barker. He is survived by: his wife Donna Barker; his sister Carolyn Smith; his children, Brad (Alicia), Beth Houze (Rick) and Britney Byrne (Greg); his stepdaughter Michelle Schwabe (Michael); his grandchildren, Abra, Bradley (Kelci), Tyler Houze (Anna), Sarah Reyes (Miguel), Hannah, Madysen Byrne (Travis Vest), Karleigh Fisher (Luke) and Patrick Byrne; and his great grandchildren, Navy Rose Houze, Ariana Reyes, Piper Houze, Asher Reyes and Hallie Jo Barker.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions in Richard's memory be made to First Christian Church of Borden (1532 E Water St, Borden, IN 47106), Southeast Christian Church (920 Blankenbaker Pkwy, Louisville, KY 40243), and Seven Rivers Presbyterian Church (4221 W Gulf to Lake Highway, Lecanto, FL 34461).
