She was predeceased by: her grandchild Nova Lynn Schwartz. She is survived by: her husband Martin Schwartz; her stepchildren, Jeff Schwartz (Kristal), Heather Lanning, Jarrod Schwartz (Amanda), Jacob Schwartz (Andrea), Marty Carey (Tess) and Jason Schwartz; and her siblings, Donnie Riley, Darrel Riley (Helen), David Riley (Brenda), Delores Brashear (Ronnie), Diana Crady (Rick), Debbie Freeze (Joe) and Dora Cornett (Finley).

Due to the current pandemic, a private visitation will be held on Thursday, May 7, 2020 at the Garr Funeral Home in Sellersburg with burial to follow at Graceland Memorial Park in New Albany.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to WHAS Crusade for Children, 520 W Chestnut St, Louisville, KY 40202.

“I am so very sorry to hear that Darlene has left us. I spoke with her a few days before her death, she invited me over to her opening of the garage sale. I came over early Sat. morning and Martin showed me around to purchase a few things. He said she was sick. I met Darlene last year, she was a very loving woman who invited me into her home, we had tea, we walked around her garden and she taught me a few things about plants. She gave me some plants to start in my garden.I know all will miss her.”
