He is survived by: his parents, William N. Steinhagen and Mary Ellen Steinhagen of Madison, Wisconsin; his wife Claudia Steinhagen; his children, Lauren Elena Steinhagen and Leland Steinhagen; his sister Ellen Robison (Dennis) of Phoenix, Arizona; his mother-in-law Maria Elena Acosta of Toluca, Mexico; his siblings-in-law, Iliana Viljakainen (Lassi) of Madrid Spain, Roberto Cruz Acosta (Lili) and Victor Cruz Acosta of Toluca, Mexico; and his nieces and nephews, Grant, Delaney, Caleb Robison, Sofia, Eugenia Cruz Albarran, Mercedes, Fabiana, Regina and Pablo Viljakainen. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Visitation was held on Thursday, February 20th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM and on Monday, February 24th 2025 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM. A funeral service will be held on Monday, February 24th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Olsen Funeral & Cremation Services Fred C. Olsen Chapel (1001 2nd Ave, Rockford, IL 61104).
