He was predeceased by: his parents, Fred H. Buchanan and Evelyn Buchanan (Cheuvront); his wife Freeda Louise Buchanan; his brother Billy Joe Buchanan; and his daughter Martha D. Buchanan.
He is survived by: his children, David Buchanan (Faye) of Newburgh, IN, Rebecca Viola (Gary) of Frewsburg, NY, Paul Buchanan (Danette) of Beaverton, OR and Jim (Arla); and his siblings, Betty Gay Lowe of Greensburg, Jane Roution of Casey Creek, KY and Thomas Buchanan (Kay) of Hyde, Maryland. He is also survived by 18 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren.
