He was predeceased by: his mother Mary Ann Tharp (Tucker). He is survived by: his father James Alvin Tharp; his wife Margaret Jo "Maggie" Tharp (Enriquez); his pet Bear; his sisters, Patty Kennedy, Barbara Mann and Sandy Yoder (John); and his sister-in-law Jeanne DeCosta (Chuck). He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, great nieces, and nephews.
