He was predeceased by: his sons, Andy Rice and Matthew Rice; and his siblings, Darcus Williams, Elizabeth Yancey and Charles Rice.
He is survived by: his children, Cheryl Cline (Louis) of Stewartsville, IN and Brian Rice (Jeanie) of Evansville, IN; his grandchildren, Chris Morlan (Heather) of Cynthiana, IN, Gabrielle Emerson (Ross) of Medina, TN, Adam Rice of Indianapolis, IN and Megan Wahnsiedler; and his great grandchildren, Kayla Mae Morlan, Lucas Allen Emerson and James Thomas Wahnsiedler, III.
