He was predeceased by: his parents, James "Howard" Courtney and Mona M. Courtney-Miller (Stout); his children, Tamera "Tammy" L. Sark and James D. Knoble; and his siblings, Phyllis Ann Croy, Kenneth D. Courtney, Benjamin M. Courtney and Danny "Dan" H. Courtney.
He is survived by: his daughters, Linda Thompson (Jeff) of Bluffton and Pamela Warthman (James) of Bluffton. He is also survived by 8 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren.
