He was predeceased by: his parents, Frank Grider and Ruby Arlene Grider (Handcock); his children, Kurt A. Grider and Tonia Rene Furnish; his grandson Richie Grupy; and his siblings, Mary Watson, John Grider, Mattie Biddlecome, Frank Grider, James Grider and Donald Grider.

He is survived by: his wife Constance I. "Connie" Grider (Hinesley) of Bluffton; his children, Gary L. Grider of Fort Wayne, Kevin R. Grider (Betty) of Huntington, Terrie Esterline (Bill) of Albion and Traci Waggoner (Rick) of Bluffton; and his sister Loretta Harris of Fort Wayne. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren and 4 great-grandsons.

Memorials may be made to American Legion Post #111 Honor Guard or the V.F.W #857 Honor Guard and can be sent to the funeral home.
