He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter Wentz and Eva Marie Wentz (Jewell). He is survived by: his brothers, Robert (Bob) and Ivan; his wife Sharon Lee Adams; his children, Jennifer Wentz-Montgomery (Travis), Tim Wentz of Bloomington, IN and David Wentz (Cassandra) of San Antonio, TX.; his grandchildren, Bret Syrek (Shorf), Conner Syrek, Katie McGowan (Adam), Vanessa Wentz and Dominic Wentz; his great grandchild Spencer McGowan; and his sister-in-law Mary Ann Ferguson (Jay). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Visitation was held on Saturday, November 16th 2024 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the DeBaun Funeral Homes & Crematory (85 E Springhill Dr, Terre Haute, IN 47802). A memorial service was held on Saturday, November 16th 2024 at 1:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Saturday, November 16th 2024 at the West Lawn Cemetery (823 E Co Rd 1100 N, Farmersburg, IN 47850).
