He was predeceased by: his parents, Carl K Hays and Macy A Hays (Shields); his wife Violet; and his siblings, Vernon, Clarence "Dick", Fred, John, Kenneth, Jim, Katherine, Lucille and Wilma.
He is survived by: his son Daniel Hays (Lisa); his grandchildren, Zachary Hays of Indianapolis, Emily Reuter (James) of Spencer and Laura Sky Jacobs (Jake) of Spencer; his great grandchildren, Maddox, Trayton, Reina, Katarina, Izabella, Ellionna Reuter and Layla Jacobs; and his extended family, Marilyn Crawford, Nancy Arterburn, Mary Jane Allen, Jane King, Jimmy Crawford, Sue Compton, Tammy and Dave McMillan.
Visitation will be held on Friday, March 7th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Allen Funeral Home and Crematory (4155 S Old State Rd 37, Bloomington, IN 47401).
