He was predeceased by: his parents, George Willard Scanlan and Mildred Marie Fitzpatrick (Kletzke); his son David Deckard Jr.; his brother Duane Scanlon; and his godparents, Edward and Betty Eletzke.
He is survived by: his wife Evelyn Scanlan of Bloomington; his daughter Christina Lossau (Matt); his grandchildren, Tobi Popoola, David Deckard III, Izzy Popoola, Vanessa Deckard and Lu Popoola; and his siblings, Pete Scanlan (Sue), Janet Richmond (Jim) and Kevin Scanlan. He is also survived by many Nieces; nephews and cousins.
