He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Finis Edward Deckard and Pearl Loretta Gray Deckard. He was also cherished by his family, friends.
Visitation was held on Saturday, September 28th 2024 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Allen Funeral Home and Crematory (4155 S Old State Rd 37, Bloomington, IN 47401). A memorial service was held on Saturday, September 28th 2024 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
Later, he retired from Indiana University, where he was respected for his dedication and contributions to the institution.
