He is survived by: his wife Diana McElyea; his daughter Sara Barthelme (Mark); his granddaughter Noelle; his son Benjamin Holland (Paula); his granddaughter Lily; and his siblings, William Holland (Carolyn), Mark Holland and Joyce Bartley. He is also survived by niece and several nephews.
Memorials can be made to the American Legion of Des Moines, IA in lieu of flowers.
