He was predeceased by: his parents, Holland Chambers and Lydia Chambers (Hedrick); his wife Lois Chambers (Cardwell); and his brothers, Leonard and Emmit Leon Chambers.

He is survived by: his daughter Marcia Cain (Lee); and his grandchildren, Rachel Holland Cain and Aidan Carter Cain.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Southern Care Hospice in Alfred's name.
