He was predeceased by: his parents, Everett Nixon and Celia Jines Nixon; his former wife Evelyn Chamness Nixon; his son Ricky Nixon; and his siblings, Charles, George Nixon and Mary Edwards.
He is survived by: his wife Jean Teater Nixon; his daughter Susie Ray (Jeff) of Lafayette; his daughter-in-law Connie Nixon of Rockville; his grandchildren, Dan Nixon (Crystal), Joyce Forrest (Rob), Niki Tschaenn and Trisha Fultz (John); and his close friend Ann Eggleston of Clinton. He is also survived by eight great-grandchildren.
