He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Dowden and Freeda Dowden (Swango). He is survived by: his wife Rowena Dowden (George); his children, Paul Dowden, Nathan Dowden (Kim), Elizabeth Straley (David) and Andrew Dowden (Erika); and his sister Judy Miller (Jim). He is also survived by 13 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, it was Bill's suggestion that any memorial tributes be made in the form of charitable donations to Wheeler Mission in Indianapolis or Faith Christian Church in Bloomfield, IN.
