He is survived by: his son Richard Sparks Jr.; his daughter-in-law Jeri Kay Sparks; his grandson Aiden; his daughter Laura Kerns; his son-in-law Carl Kerns Sr.; and his grandsons, Carl Jr. and Luke.
The family asks that any memorial donations be made to IU Health Olcott Center (cancer care) in Richard's name.
