He was predeceased by: his parents, James Roy and Lucy Charlotte Abrams (DeFrees); and his sisters, Mary Sparks and Charlotte Gabbard. He is survived by: his wife Janice; his children, Stacy Lowry (Chad), Mike Abrams (Ashley) and Michele Coker (Jason); his grandchildren, Gage Lowry, Gracie Lowry, Evelyn Abrams, Lucy Abrams and Reece Coker; and his siblings, Beverly Kennedy, Linda Meadows and Jim Abrams.

The family asks that all memorial contributions be made to Mt. Zion Wesleyan Church or the American Cancer Society.
