He was predeceased by: his parents, Basil Bennett Sr. and Dorothy Bennett (Phillips); and his siblings, Mike Bennett and Margie Roach. He is survived by: his wife Jane Bennett (Phillips) of Bloomfield, Indiana; his daughter Penny Burris (David) of Bloomfield; and his grandson Allen Burris.
