He was predeceased by: his parents, John Lloyd and Bertha Cloe Atkins (Flick); his siblings, Viva Good, Judy Murray, Marie Hammond and Kenneth Atkins; his daughter-in-law Jacqueline "Jackie" Atkins; and his brother-in-law Earl "Pat" Buening.
He is survived by: his wife Charlene; his children, Harold Gordon Atkins (Bev) of St. Anthony, Bryan Atkins of Birdseye and Priscilla Rickelman (Keith) of Mariah Hill; and his siblings, Ruby Lane (Bob) of Birdseye, Lou Ellen Buening of Ferdinand, Kathy Hoffman (Mike) of Birdseye, Jayne Wininger (Steve) of Birdseye and Deby Caldemeyer (Larry) of Lynnville. He is also survived by grandchildren and (8) great-grandchildren.
