He is survived by: his wife Misty (Smeltzer); his daughters, Valerie Turpin (Kenny) of Vincennes, Brittany Chestnut (Thomas) of Sandborn and Jaclyn Ferguson (JR) of Sandborn; his grandchildren, Kyle Howard, Bradie Turpin, QuiAnna Bechtel, Dawson Chestnut, Abby, Paisley, Eddie and Kai; and his siblings, Jeb Bechtel (Rickie), Shorty Bechtel (Donna), Joe Bechtel (Bobbi), Dixie Beasley and Nancy Ramsey.
