He was predeceased by: his parents, John W. Schindler and Alieda Schindler (Sprunger); his wife Pat; and his brothers, Lt. Colonel Hallman W. Schindler and Captain Ted K. Schindler.
He is survived by: his children, Deborah K. Dingledy of Indianapolis, Anne M. Stauffer (Dave) of Berne and John W. Schindler (Nancy) of League City, Texas; his grandchildren, Eric Dingledy (Jessica), Mark Dingledy, Todd Stauffer (Jennifer), Jenna Stauffer, Dr. Nick Schindler (Jandi), Jeff Schindler and Alex Schindler; and his great grandchildren, Lucas, Tyler Schindler and Rowan Dingledy.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, there will be no visitation.
