It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Maxine Nussbaum (Berne, Indiana), born in Andrews, Indiana, who passed away on July 24, 2020, at the age of 96, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, John A. Meyer and Lena K. Meyer; her former husband Alvin A. Nussbaum of Monroe; her spouses, Margaret Beitler (Leonard "Ben"), Matilda Leatherman (Wilbur) and Raymond "Jake" Meyer (Mildred); her brothers, Leo (Janet), Elmer (Ruth Ellen), Milo (Violet), Victor, Reuben (Estella) and Carl (Justine); her son-in-law Charles A. Nietch; and her grandson David J. Nietch.
She is survived by: her children, Ronda Nietch of Niles, MI, Lenell Nussbaum (Peter Skartvedt) and Jon K. Nussbaum (Kelly); her grandchildren, Annamarie Waterman (Mike) of Marcellus, MI, Jennifer Betzner (Scott) of Indianapolis, IN, Nicholas Skartvedt (Lyndsay Watson), Noah Skartvedt (Alexandra Hernandez), Kiley Lan (Jerry) of Temecula, CA, Shelby Buffington of Tustin, CA, Ethan Nussbaum of Radcliffe, KY and Julianne Nussbaum of Temecula, CA; her great grandchildren, Kristina Hedges (Phillip), Riley Waterman, Spencer Waterman and Tiffani Betzner; and her daughters, Susan Yoder, Jenny Yager and Renee Captain. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Due to the Covid-19 guidelines facemasks are asked to be worn during your visit.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Cross United Church of Christ, Berne, or any effort to defeat the current occupant of the White House.
