He was predeceased by: his parents, Joaquin Velazquez and Atanasia Velazquez (Calderon); and his spouse Trinidad Vergara. He is survived by: his children, Joaquin Velazquez of Decatur, Jen Abbott (Josh) of Woodburn and Jaime Velazquez of Van Wert, OH; his siblings, Lupe Velazquez of Mexico, Concepcion Velazquez Calderon of Mexico and Conchita Velazquez Calderon of Mexico; his grandchildren, Beverly, Nathaniel Velazquez, Julianna, Jillian and Jonah Abbott; and his great grandchild Auryn Martin.

Preferred memorials are to St. Mary's Church.
