He was predeceased by: his parents, Ubaldo Paulin and Sylvina Paulin (Castillo); and his son Guillermo Paulin Jr.. He is survived by: his wife Esperanza Paulin of Berne, Indiana; and his children, Octavio Paulin of Orlando, Florida, Rogelio Paulin of Largo, Florida, Carols Paulin of Grand Prairie, Texas, Carlos Paulin of McHenry, Illinois and Sonia McKrell of Berne, Indiana. He is also survived by two sisters; one brother; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
