He was predeceased by: his parents, Homer Amstutz and Hilda Amstutz (Moser); his sister Bernadine Zurcher; and his brothers-in-law, John Zurcher, Bill Hill and Phil Bollinger.

He is survived by: his wife Dorothy J. Amstutz (Farlow) of Berne, IN; his children, Leon Amstutz (Anne) of Elkhart, IN, Jerry Amstutz (Denise) of Mishawaka, IN, Brian Amstutz (Lisa) of Danville, KY, Suanne Shidler (Wayne) of Shepherd, MI and Judy Springer (Jeff) of South Bend, IN; his siblings, Carol Hill of Huntington, IN. and Larry Amstutz (Pat) of Fort Wayne, IN; and his sister-in-law Norene Bollinger of Waynesville, NC.. He is also survived by 17 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, and 1 great grandchild.
