He was predeceased by: his parent Willie Mae Watkins (London); his son Johnny Watkins; and his brother-in-law Larry Thompson. He is survived by: his wife Deanna Watkins (Thomas); his children, David Watkins (Janet), Melanee "Missy" Decker (John), Robert Bruce (Andrea), Laura Stevens and Joseph Bruce (Dawn); his sister Rita Thompson; and his nephew Jerry Thompson. He is also survived by 15 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren, 1 great-great grandchild.
