He was predeceased by: his father Roy M. Swartz, Jr.; his son Joseph Peter "JP" Swartz, II; and his brother Steve Swartz. He is survived by: his wife Ronda Asher-Swartz; his children, Mary Katherine "Katie" Swartz, Luke Michael Swartz and Lucy Ann Swartz; and his stepmother Dorine Swartz. He is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

Memorial contributions may be made to Roncalli High School or to the Catholic Youth Organization.
