He was predeceased by: his parents-in-law, Ruth Hardesty and Norman Hardesty; his brothers, Paul "Buddy" Carson and Tom Carson; and his brother-in-law Larry Taylor.

He is survived by: his wife Sandra Carson (Hardesty); his children, Cheryl Sullivan (Mark) and Mark Carson (Krissy); and his grandchildren, Samantha Crowe (Austin), Brian Sullivan (Rachael Holmes) and Mary Hughett (Dustin). He is also survived by 3 great grandchildren; and much loved nieces, nephews, and brothers and sisters-in-law.

Contributions in his memory may be made to Holy Name Catholic Church or Scecina High School.
