He was predeceased by: his parents, Pearl Yates of Strasburg, IL and Willard Yates of Strasburg, IL; and his siblings, Berwyn Yates of Shelbyville and Sarah Imber of Denver, CO.. He is survived by: his wife Mary Ruth Yates (Hartman); his sons, Charles W. Yates (Julie) of Zionsville and Jonathan; and his uncle James Yates of Sullivan, IL. He is also survived by five grandchildren; six nephews.
