He was predeceased by: his parents, Leroy Patton and Wanda Patton (Swafford); and his brother Rodney Patton. He is survived by: his wife Melissa Hunter of Bedford; his children, Chris Patton, Matthew Patton (Camesha), Joshua Patton (Sheena), Wesley Jr. (Candace), Miranda Banks (Larry) and Alyssa Grace (Justin); and his siblings, Dwight Patton (Diana), Eddie Patton, Clark Patton and Linda Patton. He is also survived by thirteen grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild and one on the way; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
