He was predeceased by: his parents, Laverne Sorrells and Helen Louise Sorrells (Stroud); and his brother Jerry D. Sorrells. He is survived by: his wife Karen Sorrells of Bedford; his children, Dayna Sorrells of Bedford, Dustin Sorrells (Melissa) of Mitchell and Danny Sorrells (Talesha) of Bedford; his grandchildren, Dayson Sorrells, Dannah Sorrells, Delaney Sorrells, Lillie Barnett, Donovan Terry Sorrells and Amaryss Munyanyi; and his brothers, Richard L. Sorrells, Ronald "Ronnie" L. Sorrells and Steven "Mike" Sorrells.
