He was predeceased by: his parents, Jose J. Escobedo and Gloria H. Shepherd (Herrada); and his sister Maria Cavazos. He is survived by: his wife Karlynn Curren; his daughter Sarah Roach; his grandchildren, Austin and Avery Roach; and his siblings, Joe Escobedo Jr. (Irma), Ricardo Escobedo (Lollie), Carlos Escobedo (Kathy), Robert Johnson (Darlene), Diana Nicholson (Barney) and Debbie Myers (Lanny).
