He is survived by: his mother Kathaleen Smith (Stafford); his wife Brenda Luallen of Bedford; his children, Scott Smith (Lori) of Bedford, Missy Kelly (Tom) of Leesville and Darren Smith (Myra) of Bedford; his grandchildren, Brooke Kelly of Bloomington, Camdon Cobb (Rhiannon "Charlie") of Fayetteville, Brandon Smith (Chantelle) of New Mexico, Devin Smith of Bloomington, Derek Smith (Tessa) of Bedford, Aaron Smith (Tori) of Bloomington, Dustin Smith of Bedford and Rylee Kelly of Bedford; his great grandchildren, Jacelyn, Garrett, Katie, Zackery, Gage, Colton, Gabe, Vera, Brylee, Christian, Aubree, Silas, Ellie, Connor, Khloey, Brooks, Nathan, Abby and Jerry; and his siblings, Ellen Sears (Paul) of Bedford, Rita Hawkins (Richard) of Bedford, Russell "Cutt" Smith (Trish) of Bedford and Mike Smith (Jill) of Bedford. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

The family asks that friends consider memorial contributions be made to the Leukemia Foundation.
