He was predeceased by: his parents, George Hughes and Lyvada Hughes (McCory); his daughter Rhonda Burcham (Greg); and his siblings, Genevieve Flinn (Charles), Wonita Sullivan (James), Nancy Hughes, Charlette Miller (Wayne), Carolyn Sue Chaney (Gene), Samuel Hughes (Carla), Stanley Hughes (Dorothy), George A. Hughes Jr. (Elta Mae) and Ollie Hughes (Joann).
He is survived by: his wife Velda Jane Zigler; his daughter Christina Emmons (Toby); his grandchildren, Jessica Fortner, Andrew Emmons, Cassy Burton (John), Jared Burcham (Gianna) and Jordan Burcham (Hannah); his great grandchildren, Gabrielle Emmons (Doug), Isaac Emmons (Marissa), Adrianna Lloyd, Serinity Jaggers, Kody Fortner, Koral Fortner, Krystina Fortner, Cash Burton, Waylon Burton, Jaxon Burton and Xander Burton; and his great great grandchild Dallas Fleener.
