It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Phillip Gordon Douglas (Bedford, Indiana), born in Scottsville, Kentucky, who passed away on February 24, 2020, at the age of 81, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his mother Mary Ruth Emberton; his stepfather Ralph Ikerd; and his grandson Dustin Spencer. He is survived by: his former spouse Ralph Ikerd; his wife Martha Joyce Jones of Bedford; his children, Diane Douglas of Bedford and Scott Douglas (Eliana) of Bedford; his grandchildren, Phillip Douglas (Carol), Cody Douglas (Lindsey), Emily Fox (Donnie Jr.) and Aaron Douglas; his great grandchildren, Catlin Almen, Landon, Bailor, Elizabeth, Steven, Levi, Brayden Douglas and Carter Fox; and his siblings, Ralph Ikerd (Judy) of Orleans and Connie Malott (Matt) of Florida. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Alzheimer's Association or the Indiana National Guard Relief Fund.

“Csm douglas was my first scoutmaster and first brigade csm. Gabby (as my dad called him), took my on my first winter camping trip in 1977. We ended up with over 12 inches of snow (a lot for southern indiana), but had a great time. He was a great leader, soldier and mentor to more people than you can imagine. He will be sorely missed.
