She was predeceased by: her parents, Samuel Smith and Rena May Smith (Cornish); her husband Charles E. Sutton; her son Leroy Fleener; and her grandchildren, Jamie Luttrell and Christopher Buchannan.

She is survived by: her daughters, Terri Goddard (Jeff) of Vero Beach, FL, Susan Duke of Terre Haute, Tammy Chambers of Bloomington and Kimberly Roberts of Bedford; and her grandchildren, Joe, Matt Duke, Michele McDonald, Brandy Fleener, Myra and Leroy Roberts. She is also survived by nine great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
