He is survived by: his children, Jeff Root (Kelly) of Bloomington, Darren Root (Michelle) of Bloomington, Jan Briscoe of Bedford and Michelle Chastain (Shane) of Bedford; his grandchildren, Jordan Root (Lindsay) of Bloomington, Hannah Root of Bloomington, Makinzey Root of Bloomington, Andrew Root (Anna) of Bloomington, Meredith Elmore (Gant) of Bloomington, Alex Root of Bloomington, Chase Briscoe (Deanna) of Colorado Springs, CO, Corey Chastain (Jacey) of Bedford, Adam Chastain (Hilary) of Bedford and Molly Embree (Patrick) of Bedford; and his great grandchildren, Madilynn, Logan, Norah, Charlotte, Hudson, Nathan, Mason, Hunter and Lucy.
