He was predeceased by: his parents, Delbert Atchison and Hattie Atchison (Johnson); his siblings, George, James "Bud" Atchison and Virginia Stroud; and his nephew Jeffrey Wayne Atchison.
He is survived by: his wife Patty Murphy (Hunter) of Bedford; his children, Eric Scott Atchison (Michelle) of Bedford, Melissa R. Llano (Atchison) of Woodstock, GA and Daniel Dale Atchison (Jennifer) of Canton, GA; and his stepdaughters, Shonja Miracle (Anthony David) and Rebecca Lutgens of Bedford. He is also survived by thirteen grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
