He was predeceased by: his parents, Russell East and Marie East (Fleener); and his siblings, Melvin East and Betty Caridoyne East. He is survived by: his wife Ginger Lee Phillips of Bedford; his children, Allison Atkinson (Philip) of Marion, SC, Michael Hounshel (Robbyn) of Bedford, Melissa Eubank (Todd) of Trafalgar, Ryan East (Hope) of Spencer and Kyle East (Catherine) of Bloomington; his grandchildren, Abby Atkinson, Brice Hounshel-Smith, Tristin Hounshel-Nethery, Arick Hounshel, Xavier Eubank, Alayna Eubank, Taryn Eubank, Anna East, Caleb East, Rachel East and Landon East; his great grandchildren, Ava Rose Nethery and Layla Grey Nethery; and his sister Colette Asay (Carlos) of Lafayette. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
