He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph "Woody" and Audrey Burton (Bault). He is survived by: his wife Pamela Blake of Bedford; his sons, Roger Burton (Jamie), Greg Burton (Janice), Mark Cain (Tabitha) and Christopher Cain (Sheila); his grandchildren, Zachary, Cooper, Emma, Braddock Burton, Kenny Crook, Danyelle Burton, Whitney Lamb (TJ), Logun Young (Cory), Henry Cain and J. R. Pursell; his great grandchildren, Kinsley, Kruz Lamb and Ayla Burton; and his sister Freida Smith (Loris "Smitty").
The family asks that friends consider memorial contributions be made to the Mitchell Cemetery.
