He was predeceased by: his parents, Oscar Hammond and Ilene Hammond (Robinson); and his siblings, Barbara Medlock, Betty Arnold and Al Hammond.
He is survived by: his wife Sandra of Bedford; his sons, Greg Hammond (Cheryl) of Bedford and Gary Hammond (Susan) of Bedford; his grandchildren, Evan Hammond (Adrienne) of Gas City, IN, Eric Hammond (Sarah) of Brownstown and Emily Spoonmore (Justin); his great grandchildren, Evan, Reece, Brody, Alexis, Treyton, Olivia and Maddox; and his brother Wayne Hammond.
