He was predeceased by: his parents, Helen Mitchell Houston and John Kirkman; and his children, Gregory Heyns Kirkman and Amanda Sue Kirkman. He is survived by: his wife Susan "Sue" Kirkman; his children, Jenna Kirkman-North, Emily Imhausen (James) and Kyle Kirkman (Chris); his grandchildren, Harrison North, Maya North, Ian Kirkman, Tyler Kirkman (Ashley) and Nicole Swett (Justin); his great grandchildren, Nathan Swett and River Kirkman; and his sister Nancy Goodman. He is also survived by her children and grandchildren as well as numerous cousins.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations to be made in his honor to The Michael J. Fox Foundation, which is helping fund the research in treating Parkinson's Disease.
