He was predeceased by: his father Charlie; his brother Scotty Sykes; and his nephew Joshua Sykes. He is survived by: his mother Bonnie of Bedford; his brother Bradley Sykes (Katrina) of Bedford; his sister-in-law Kim Sykes; his niece Krista Blevins (Kyle); and his great-niece Kamden. He is also survived by several aunts and uncles.
