He was predeceased by: his parents, Heber Sowders and Martha Sowders (Hillenburg); and his siblings, Dorothy Owens, Marcella Turner, Peggy Bush, Jim Sowders and Judy Sowders.
He is survived by: his wife Mary Ellen; his children, Mary Beth Browning, Jim Sowders (Davena) and Susan Jones; his grandchildren, Brian Browning, Mary Anne Gould (Travis), Damon Hale (Cheryl), Amanda Britton (Mike), Andrew Jones (Anna-Lisa), Haley Mack (Deonte), Hope Gastineau (Jon), Zach Galloway, Stephen Galloway (Brie) and Lindsey Gaweda (Wyatt); his great grandchildren, Morgan Lynn (Cole), Tracer Gould (Chandler) of Peyton Hale, KJ, Desmond, Trey Beau Mack, Brooklyn, Elijah Jones, Cora, Lina, Ada Britton, Sterling Gastineau and Ada Galloway; and his great great grandchildren, Ava and Parker Lynn.
